Find an available domain and register it

A .no domain costs NOK 99 per year incl. VAT, and renewal costs the same. DNS on our name servers is included in the domain price.

Organisations registered in the Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises (Brønnøysund), and private individuals over 18 with a Norwegian national identity number or D number. Individuals identify themselves with a personal ID (PID) from Norid, issued free of charge with BankID. An organisation can hold up to 100 .no domains, an individual up to 5.

Usually within minutes. Once the order is paid – and, for .no, the applicant declaration is accepted – we set up the DNS zone and send the registration to the registry. If the registration is rejected because the domain is taken or the registry refuses it, you get your money back.

The domain is registered for one year at a time and renews automatically. The renewal is invoiced about 30 days before the expiry date. You can cancel the domain under My domains in the customer portal. A paid period is not refunded.

DNS on our name servers is included in the domain price. The name servers are ns1.infohost.no and ns2.infohost.no. Under My domains in the customer portal you change DNS records and name servers yourself. If you use other name servers, you are responsible for the DNS setup yourself.

Yes. Ask your current provider for the domain's transfer code (AuthInfo). Enter it here, and the domain is moved at Norid without downtime for your website and email. The transfer is free. You pay the regular renewal price the next time the domain renews.

Yes. We move domains with endings other than .no for you. Send us a request and we will take it from there.

AI domain suggestions is a free tool from InfoDesk. You describe your idea, and AI suggests 12 domain names under the endings we sell. Each name is then checked automatically, so you can see which ones are available. Getting suggestions is free, and you do not need to log in. Without an account you can run 3 searches per day, and up to 20 with a customer account. You only pay when you register a domain.

2–63 characters: the letters a–z, æ, ø and å, a range of Sámi characters, digits and hyphens (not first or last). If you type æ, ø or å, we convert the name to the format Norid requires (xn--) automatically.
